Customer Reviews

"Great little (tiny) diner with a lot of history in the center of East Syracuse. Feels very authentic. Service was great and the food was delicious. Spanish home fries are a definite must. There was a wait but considering how busy and small it was it wasn't terrible and well worth it."

- Zachary P.

"I have been to so many diners in my travels and I can honestly say this one is by far in the top 3. Probably the best corned beef hash I've ever had and the cinnamon raisin toast is a huge leg up on other diners. Highly recommend this place. It's a hole in the wall but a powerhouse kitchen."

"Love this little diner with huge heart! Best biscuits and gravy in town, and the portions are perfect and fairly priced -- and when you sit at the bar you get "breakfast and a show" watching the owner/chef show you how short - order cooking is done on the open flat-top. An old school diner experience done right .... AND they've got AC now so lunch on a hot day in East Syracuse will be at the Redwood! Get the biscuits and gravy you will not be disappointed."

- Kevin S.

"We were in town for a conference and stumbled upon this gem as we were checking out the area. What an awesome atmosphere of and old time diner. We sat at the counter watching the cook knocking out 6-8 orders at a time with ease. The staff was friendly, an atmosphere where the customers all seemed like regulars, and the food portions were huge and delicious. Very glad we stopped!"

"The redwood diner is a favorite. Family run, classic 1950s diner, with no frills decor - red bar stools, checkered floors- takes you back in time to its roots. Don't let its understated looks fool you - the food is excellent, and at a good price. Fresh ingredient diner food without all the grease hiding the flavor like you might get from a lot of places. I recommend the chopped cheese omelet with Spanish home fries if you're feeling a little something different, it's like a cheeseburger for breakfast. Lots of omelets to choose from though - there's one for everyone. If you're looking for sweet, the French toast or blueberry pancakes won't disappoint. If you haven't been I suggest you stop in!"

"Okay, this place doesn't look like much. Should we really go in? Thrilled that we did! Standard diner food items prepared with unusually capable care. Chef knows what they're doing, including outstanding pancakes and excellent omelet. We were well taken care of in every regard. Thank you!"
